Agelink Theatre is supported by Lotterywest

Welcome to Agelink Theatre

As we move forward into 2019, AGELINK THEATRE will still exist, as a subsidiary of THEATRE 180, and it will still follow the same path of creating intergenerational shows for and about West Australian seniors and the community generally, making arts projects with people with dementia and creating plays based on local history.

THEATRE 180 will also present more main stage productions and work with schools. The focus of the company will still be about West Australians – topics to interest West Australians, West Australian performers and creative personnel, and West Australian audiences.

AGELINK THEATRE INC is dedicated to:

  • affirming the value of our seniors; their wisdom, their experience, their body of knowledge and their contribution to our society
  • bringing the generations together so that these stories can enrich the knowledge of the young
  • producing professional main stage and touring theatre that inspires, entertains and informs
  • engaging with communities through a creative process aimed at  elevating mood, combating depression, passing on new skills and increasing mental alertness.

We produce shows based on seniors’ memories garnered in interviews and reminiscence workshops; shows filled with stories, music, song and laughter; shows that travel into the community and can be performed anywhere including libraries, schools, senior centres – even in the corner of a room.

We also produce larger scaled productions in professional venues that appeal to a mainstream audience and pay tribute to the human spirit.

For our specialised interactive and musical performances for audiences with dementia we travel to residential or day care facilities with our “reminiscence box”.

LIFE IN THEIR HANDS Perth August 2016

A fabulous show. Mum and I were interested, humoured, brought to tears, transported back in time, all rolled into one.
Elizabeth Langford

You have done the Centenary celebration proud, and it was so interesting to have the story presented with so many memories. Your research of facts and times is a credit to you, and the cast were fantastic. I loved the visual backdrop and photos.

This afternoon’s performance was quite lovely and extremely moving. You and the company/choir did a fabulous job with some light and wonderfully funny moments and one-liners.

What a great show! ..The whole idea was so interesting – dramatic performance, documentary, music, movement! You took us on a journey. enthusiasm and realism. I loved the way every actor used his/her imagination to recreate the situations. We thoroughly enjoyed the performance.

Between you, your writers, contributors and actors Agelink put on another truly wonderful show.
The whole show was so enjoyable and we didn’t want it to end and we wanted to know more about the characters and their lives!

Wow – What a brilliant recollection of the days and times we grew up in. It was amazing to hear the style of language and phrases we used back then.
The whole story and production was an emotional trip back in time and surfaced a lot of memories .
Lee Benthien

“Jenny, your team’s professional performance was a memorable nostalgia trip for all, thank you for making so many people happy. Everyone was singing along, and if there was room, I am sure they would have started dancing, they had such a great time.”  Lynn Doyle, Home Library Service, Belmont Library
